Originally from Danville, Virgina, Dr. Marsella holds Bachelor and Master of Science in biology as well as a Master of Medical Science. Before becoming a physician, he taught junior high school science and math and later worked as a physician assistant in anesthesiology. He graduated with his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia and is fellowship trained in pain management.
Dr. Marsella is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Alabama Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Association for the Study of Pain and American Society of Regional Anesthesia.
Dr. Marsella has been treating patients since 1991, helping them reduce pain and restore function and wellbeing in their lives. Dr. Marsella often treats patients with symptoms such as arthritis, back pain, joint or muscle pain, sciatica, cancer or sport injury pain, tension headaches and much more.
